Who we are
GMMI is an equipping initiative catalyzing Strategic Mobilization across the global Church, particularly in the Global South.
We believe the fulfillment of the Great Commission will come as the Church in every nation rediscovers her calling to intentionally mobilize and equip believers for God’s redemptive purpose. GMMI comes alongside churches, denominations, and ministry networks to help them strengthen Strategic Mobilization from within their own structures.
Our Story
GMMI began in 2002 as Student Volunteer Movement 2 (SVM2), serving campus ministries and student organizations in mission mobilization. As the vision expanded from mobilizing students to helping the wider Church rediscover mission mobilization, the ministry became the Global Mission Mobilization Initiative (GMMI) in 2019. Today, GMMI equips the global Church through teaching, training, resources, strategic collaboration, and practical mobilization tools.
Our Core Objectives
+ Multiply mission mobilization movements within churches, denominations, and ministry networks.
+ Empower mission mobilizers who can coach and equip ministry structures from within.
+ Develop strategic mobilization resources serving the global Church.
+ Advance biblical, Spirit-led models of mobilization through teaching, courses, and training schools.
What Makes GMMI Distinctive
GMMI emphasizes a holistic approach to mobilization, calling the Church to embrace her identity as God’s multiplying, reproducing missionary people. We focus on mobilization from within churches and denominations, helping local ministries become sustainable Great Commission Ministries rather than relying primarily on outside programs. Through the Global Mobilization Institute, we equip pastors and ministry leaders to implement mobilization within their existing structures, using practical, step-by-step strategies. Providing a step-by-step model to aid local churches and entire denominations in implementing, holistic, strategic mobilization within their ministry structures.
